Welcome to my page! I am a passionate home cook from the Northbay Area of California. I created this site/blog in order to share my recipes and love for all things culinary, with everyone. Here you will find many of my personal recipes and stories, and also info. on some local and not so local restaurants, bars, as well as eats & drinks to check out in case you are in the area! Enjoy.

Why Cook. Feast. Repeat.?

Cook. Cooking is universal, and something I feel anyone can do (sure, some more skilled than others but we all play our roles). Cooking can be therapeutic, a way of expressing creativity, and a way of caring for others. Cooking methods and recipes can be a connection to a personal culture or heritage, or a great way to share and experience other cultures and cuisine. Then there’s the simple fact that, we all have to eat, so we cook!

To cook is to create, and then of course comes the time to..

Feast. When I think of the word feast, I think of not only the eating, but the different parts of the meal like the appetizers, entrees, desserts, the drink, the presentation, the colors, and the ambience. I feel that all these elements are included in our minds eye in some way when we think of enjoying a meal or a feast, and have always been a firm believer that we ‘eat with our eyes first’. Food, preparation and coming together for a meal is something that connects all people throughout the world; it can symbolize a season or holiday, and can have the power to bring happiness and comfort. The word can represent so much more than just the food alone, which I love, although the delicious food is most often ‘the star of the show’!

Repeat. Repetition is how you get good at anything, right? Well that includes cooking and eating 😉 So, I think it’s important to enjoy ourselves, frequently.. and repeatedly!

Although my story in the culinary world is not one that includes professional schooling or a Michelin Star of any kind (I’m talking slightly elevated home cook here), my deep-rooted passion for cooking, and the influence of some amazing personal teachers throughout my life, is what makes me want to share my recipes and stories. It is my hope to create something that will inspire you on your cooking journey, or at least give you some good dinner ideas. Cheers! Now let’s eat!
